PSPS Update

Latest information on the ongoing Public Safety Power Shutoff.

The PSPS is affecting an estimated 1,300 customers in Danville, as well as several signalized intersections

PG&E has confirmed that the re-energization of the lines shut down will begin at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019.

We know there have been a number of questions asked regarding the PSPS, so I would like provide some information.

Why is there a PSPS?
PG&E has de-energized transmission lines during the ongoing high wind event in an attempt to prevent damage and sparking to avoid a risk of wildfires.

My power lines are underground/I don't live near a wildfire zone, why am I without power?
If the transmission line being de-energized links to lines serving your home, you will be without power. If the power line 'upstream' from you is out, you will be too.

What to do at darkened/flashing intersections:
If you are driving and approaching a signalized intersection that is either completely out or flashing, the California Vehicle Code states that drivers must treat those as though there were a stop sign there.  Driving through the darkened intersections can be very dangerous. Please use caution.
