Public Safety Power Shutoff for Saturday, October 26, 2019 Message #1

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services (Marin OES) is advising Marin residents to expect a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) that will begin between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, October 26. This shutoff is in response to an extreme wind event that is due to begin after 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and continue through Sunday night. The PSPS is likely to affect most of the entire county.

Additional information about the shutoff can be found on the PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff Event page.

We encourage all our residents and business owners to be prepared to be without power for more than 48 hours. Preparations to consider:

• Charge all your mobile devices
• Plan for medical needs – devices that require power or medications that need to be refrigerated
• Fuel your vehicles
• Learn how to manually open your garage door
• Have some cash on hand in case ATMs and/or retail point-of-sale devices are not functioning
• Inventory available supplies of food, water, flashlights and batteries
• Update your contact information with PG&E at or call 1-800-743-6589.

More information on what to do during a power outage is available at and
