Red Flag Warning Could Result in Weekend PG&E Power Shutoffs

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued another Red Flag Warning for parts of the Bay Area due to critical fire conditions beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 through 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28. The Palo Alto Fire Department will staff and monitor the Palo Alto Foothills over the weekend and Palo Alto Park Rangers will also perform more frequent patrols. Please remember that charcoal barbeques and wood fires in the campground areas are prohibited during Red Flag Warning conditions.

In response to the forecast, PG&E could once again implement a Public Safety Power Shutoff. At this time, 27,000 customers in Santa Clara County are in the projected impact zone, including homes in the Palo Alto Foothills.
