A fatal motorcycle collision occurred on National Trails Hwy; the cause of the collision is under investigation

SUMMARY:
On Friday, October 25, 2019 at approximately 4:19 AM, deputies from the Victorville Station, rescue personnel from the Victorville City Fire Department and paramedics from American Medical Response responded to a single vehicle traffic collision involving a motorcycle. The collision was located on National Trails Hwy, north of the I-15 freeway, in the city of Victorville.
Deputies determined a black Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on National Trails Hwy from the area of the I-15 freeway. For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle rider lost control and the motorcycle left the roadway into a dirt field ejecting the rider. The motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators are looking into whether drugs, alcohol, or vehicle speed was a factor in the collision. National Trails Hwy in the area of the collision was closed in both directions for several hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses.
