The Unalaska City Council has called a special meeting Friday "regarding commercial flights servicing Unalaska."
Following last week's fatal plane crash that killed one passenger and injured more than a dozen others, Ravn airline officials announced Thursday that regular flights won't resume until the week of Nov. 4.
That means stranded travelers will have to wait at least 10 more days, book a seat on a charter flight, or consider additional commercial routes that have opened during the suspension.
"Representatives from Alaska Airlines, Ravn, and Grant Aviation will be participating telephonically. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the efforts taken to resume normal commercial flights," said a city statement on Friday morning.
"City officials are working diligently to facilitate viable options in response to the limited commercial flight service into and out of Unalaska," the statement continued. "The city appreciates the creative efforts of community members in this challenging time."
The meeting is slated to run from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at City Hall. Listen live at 89.7 FM.
