Deputies arrested Jonathan Cuevas for being a felon in possession of ammunition, methamphetamine & felony warrants

INCIDENT: FELON IN POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION/ POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE/ WARRANTS
LOCATION: 20800 Block National Trails Hwy, Oro Grande
SUSPECT: Jonathan Cuevas, 34-years-old, resident of Oro Grande
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 12:17pm, Deputies T. Kleveno and B. Mercado responded to a residence in the 20800 block of National Trails Highway in an attempt to locate Jonathan Cuevas for multiple outstanding felony warrants. Cuevas fled on foot from the residence when he saw deputies and a foot pursuit ensued. Cuevas was taken into custody without further incident about 1/4 mile south of the location.
A search of Cuevas' vehicle revealed high powered rifle ammunition and 9mm ammunition. Cuevas is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing ammunition. Cuevas was arrested for being in a Felon in possession of ammunition, possession of methamphetamine and outstanding warrants. He is currently being held at High Desert Detention Center.
