In reference to the fatality accident which occurred at 400 N. Grand on October 15, 2019, Angelo Manuel Rocha, male, age 18, was arrested and booked at PCDC on a warrant for Racing on Highway Causing Serious Bodily Injury / Death.

On October 15, 2019 at 8:00 PM, an Amarillo Police Department officer drove up on a motor vehicle collision in the 400 block of South Grand Street. It was determined Adrian Esteban Ruiz, a 19 year old male of Amarillo, had been northbound on S. Grand Street in a 2004 Dodge 1500. Ruiz lost control of his vehicle, crossed both southbound lanes, hit a curb, drove through a fence and then struck a livestock barn at the Tri-State Fairgrounds. He was taken to a local area hospital where he later died of injuries received in the crash. Speed and no seat belt are factors in this crash. Justice of the Peace Gary Jackson has ordered an autopsy. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
