Advisory

Alexander Smalls wanted for attempted murder following shooting incident in Seabrook yesterday. One woman wounded.

Late yesterday, Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH) to a report of a gunshot victim. When they arrived, deputies met with a woman who reported that she was shot somewhere on Delaney Circle, in Seabrook, by a male subject. Following her initial treatment at BMH, the woman was transferred to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) by ambulance for more specialized treatment of her gunshot wounds.

Sheriff's Office investigators were summoned to BMH, interviewed witnesses and looked into the shooting incident further. Through investigation, the subject was identified as 20-year-old Alexander Smalls of Grays Hill. Today, investigators met with a Beaufort County magistrate and presented the facts of the case. After reviewing the case, the magistrate issued warrants for the arrest for Smalls for Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

As of the time of this advisory, Alexander Smalls had not been located and remains at large. Smalls is described as an African-American man, 5'05" tall, 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Smalls has family in Grays Hill and may still be in the area. Based on this incident, Smalls should be considered armed and dangerous, so we urge you not to approach him.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Alexander Smalls is encouraged to contact Lance Corporal Dario Sosa at 843-255-3435, Sheriff's Office Dispatch at 843-524-2777, or Crimestoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111, if wishing to remain anonymous and for possible reward.

As of this afternoon, the woman was in stable condition and recovering from her gunshot wounds at MUSC.
