Advisory

South Harrison to be closed in sections tomorrow (10/23)

In an effort to finish roadwork on South Harrison Street in the shortest amount of time there will be closures taking place tomorrow starting at 7 am.  Specifically:

At 7 am the contractor will close one-lane of traffic heading out of town at Nassau/Harrison Street (use Washington Road as a detour) to get to Route 1.  Traffic coming from Route 1 will be allowed to proceed into town until 9 am.

At 9 am the contractor will CLOSE S. Harrison Street in both directions to all through traffic between Nassau Street and Prospect Avenue to complete paving the other lane.

At some point in the afternoon, the contractor will open up the section between Nassau Street and Prospect Avenue and CLOSE the section between Prospect Avenue and Faculty Road to finish paving that section.

It is anticipated that the entire length of S. Harrison Street will be completed in one day.

Residents will be allowed access to and from their homes, except for when there is paving directly in front of their driveways.  Residents are encouraged to park on side streets tomorrow during the paving work to avoid delays in travel.

All through traffic (those who don't live on S. Harrison Street) are encouraged to use Washington Road, Alexander Street, Mapleton Road to Route 27 or other routes and avoid South Harrison Street tomorrow.
