Wilmington Police arrest two men, recover 2.35 pounds of marijuana:

Wilmington Police have recovered approximately 2.35 pounds of marijuana and arrested two men after a drug investigation.
 
On October 18 at approximately 9:08 p.m., police officers on proactive patrol in the 700 block of East 10th Street conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for moving and equipment violations. As officers approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana. Their investigation yielded approximately 2.35 pounds of marijuana, along with a digital scale, packaging material and $1,055 in currency.
 
Police arrested 18-year-old David Hancock and 19-year-old Deoddrick Purnell without incident.
 
Hancock has been charged with the following offenses, along with the traffic violations:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
 
Purnell has been charged with the following offenses:
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
