ROHNERT PARK – At 9:54 AM, Friday, October 18th 2019, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire on Circulo Lujo; located within the Rancho Grande mobile home park. Nearby residents were reporting smoke and flames coming from a house located at 14 Circulo Lujo. The first Rohnert Park DPS Unit arrived within 2 minutes and reported heavy smoke from a bedroom near the front of the residence. The lone occupant of the residence had self-evacuated and two other occupants were not home at the time of the fire.
The fire quickly spread through the entire interior of the residence; however, an aggressive initial fire attack from Rohnert Park Fire crews, along with assistance from Sonoma County Fire District, Rancho Adobe Fire District, and Santa Rosa Fire Department, led to the fire being contained within the unit. The fire was quickly knocked down with full extinguishment within 20 minutes of arrival. The lone occupant of the residence at the time of the fire was treated by paramedics and eventually transported to a local hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
Fire Investigators are currently on scene and conducting a preliminary investigation. At this point there has been no determination of the cause or the value of damaged contents. The mobile home is considered a total loss of approximately $154,000.
