Convicted Felon in Possession of Gun and Meth for Sales, SRPD Case # 19-14238.

On Friday, October 18, 2019, at 1:52 a.m. a Santa Rosa Police officer was completing a security check within the parking lot of a local hotel on Cleveland Avenue.  The officer located two subjects loitering within a parked car and contacted them.
The male in the driver seat was unusually nervous and during the subsequent investigation, the officer completed a search of him and the vehicle.  While searching the male, the officer located a loaded .40 cal semi-automatic firearm, approximately 3.25 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, and evidence the substance was possessed for sales.  The male was a guest at the hotel and identified as 40-year-old Santa Rosa resident, Cesar Vasquez-Lopez.  Vasquez-Lopez was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.
The other vehicle occupant was determined to be unrelated to the controlled substance sales and was released from the scene.  Vasquez-Lopez was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for the following charges;
