Weather Alert - Heavy Rains Expected This Evening
WEATHER ALERT - HEAVY RAINS TONIGHT
TIME: WEDNESDAY 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management is advising of heavy rains this evening with localized street flooding possible. Drivers should be alert for flooded roads especial in normal problem areas including;
Route 1 near Raymond Road
Route 27 near Stillwell Road
Deans Lane underpass
FORECAST-
Heavy rain will fall through the evening rush hour period before pushing off to the east toward 10 PM, and any lingering showers should be out of the region by midnight. The main threat will be roadway ponding and heavy rainfall coinciding with the evening commute. Leaf-clogged drains may also locally enhance poor drainage flooding issues.
After the rain departs, winds will pick up late tonight leading into a windy Thursday. Winds will be sustained 20 - 30 mph, gusting 40 - 45 mph out of the WNW tomorrow. We anticipate no more than localized tree limb damage in the area, perhaps leading to a few stray power outages.
