COASTAL FLOOD WARNING from midnight tonight to 4 am Thurs -Minor to moderate flooding after midnight- avoid flooded shore areas.

The National Weather Service has issued a COASTAL FLOOD WARNING from October 16, 2019 midnight tonight to Thursday October 17, 2019 at 4 am.
 
COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS... Minor to moderate flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect around 2 to locally 3 feet of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will likely become flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays.
 
SHORELINE IMPACTS... Breaking waves of 3 to 5 feet with elevated water levels will result in significant beach erosion and flooding during the times of high tide tonight, with some flooding of roadways and vulnerable structures. 
 
TIMING... Minor to moderate coastal flooding around the times of high tide overnight. High tide is 1:55 am Thursday October 17, 2019
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is expected or occurring. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert for rising water, and take appropriate action to protect life and property.
