Emilio DeLa Cruz is arrested for possession/transportation of controlled substances and narcotics for sale

DATE/TIME: October 12, 2019/7:30pm

INCIDENT: Possession/Transportation of Controlled Substances and Narcotics for Sale

LOCATION: 28900 block of Hook Creek Road, Cedar Glen

SUSPECT: Emilio DeLa Cruz Gallegos, a 49-year-old resident of Cedar Glen

SUMMARY:
On Saturday, October 12, 2019 at approximately 7:30 pm, deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) initiated a traffic stop on a gray Ford pickup truck, in the 28900 block of Hook Creek Road, in the community of Cedar Glen, for numerous traffic violations. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was contacted and identified as Emilio DeLa Cruz. DeLa Cruz was determined to be under the influence of a Central Nervous System Stimulant (methamphetamine) and was subsequently arrested.

During a search of DeLa Cruz's vehicle, deputies seized over 210 grams of narcotics, which included suspected crystal methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, and suspected black tar heroin. In addition, deputies recovered hundreds of dollars in US currency, an electronic scale, and a metal replica rifle, which had the appearance of a real firearm. The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) estimated the cost of the narcotics, found in De La Cruz's vehicle, to be worth over $5,000.00 on the street.

Emilio De La Cruz was arrested for violation of Health and Safety Code Sections 11378, 11379(a), 11351, and 11352(a), which included both the possession and the transportation of controlled substances and narcotics for sale. De La Cruz was booked at Central Detention Center where he is being held on both a $400,000.00 bail and a No Bail hold pending a bail verification hearing.
