Fairfield Man Arrested for Home Invasion 
On October 11, 2019, at approximately 10:30 AM, officers responded to the area of Drake Drive for a call of a home invasion robbery. The initial investigation revealed the following:
The victim (a female resident) entered her house in the 1500 block of Drake Drive. She heard noises coming from one of the upstairs bedrooms. Subsequently, the suspect came down the stairs and told the victim that he was armed with a gun (no gun was seen or displayed). The suspect fled the residence and ran to an adjacent parking lot. There he dropped a bag which contained jewelry, computers, and other items taken from inside the victim's residence.
Responding officers apprehended and arrested the suspect after a brief foot chase and area search. He was identified as John Ferinand Scharff (33 year old male out of Fairfield). Scharff was booked at the Yolo County Jail on Home Invasion charges (violation of California Penal Code Section 212.5(a))
