In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Danville Police Department is pleased to support the Pink Patch Project.

The #pinkpatchproject is an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease.

It is estimated that approximately 1 in 8 women and 1 in 1000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. This disease can have a profound impact on the patient and their loved ones. It is a disease however, that can often be effectively treated with surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy and chemotherapy.

The Pink Patch Project’s goal is to increase awareness about the life-saving benefits of early detection and intervention in the fight against breast cancer.

During the month of October, you may see our police officers wearing this pink patch on their uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness. You can help the cause by purchasing a pink Danville Police Department patch for $10.00. Profits from the patch sales will be donated to City of Hope (https://www.cityofhope.org) for breast cancer research and treatment.
