Traffic stop leads to meth arrest 
Detective Paul Alkire of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Arvin Howard Hicks III, 55, address listed as Suburban Drive in Morganton, with possession of methamphetamine.
Deputies were in the area of Stacy Hill and Harmony Grove roads shortly after midnight on Saturday, Sept. 21, when they spotted a Jeep Cherokee with a fictitious tag.
They stopped the vehicle and found Hicks driving. A search of his person turned up .25 gram of methamphetamine.
