UNIT: Homicide Bureau – Lieutenant Dean
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are assisting the U.S Marshals Office with an investigation into an Officer Involved shooting that occurred on the 1000 block of West Holguin Street in the City of Lancaster on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 9:20 am.
Detectives learned that Agents from the United States Marshals office were attempting to conduct a traffic stop of a suspect who was wanted on narcotics related offensives. The suspect did not stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. At the conclusion of the vehicle pursuit an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. None of the Officers sustained any injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.

NARRATIVE:
Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are responding to 10th Street West and Holguin Street, Lancaster assisting U.S. Marshals in investigating the circumstances surrounding the officer involved shooting which occurred on Thursday, October 10 2019, at approximately 9:15 A.M.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing, and there is no additional information available at this time.
