POWER SHUT-OFF UPDATE

Power Shutoff Update Petaluma, California:

Power remains out for 4,296 customers within the city limits of Petaluma. There are eight signalized intersections in the city limits without power:

-Rainier and Sonoma Mountain Parkway
-Maria and Sonoma Mountain Parkway Ely and Sonoma Mountain Parkway
-Campus Circle and Sonoma Mountain Parkway (both signals)
-Riesling and Sonoma Mountain Parkway
-Redwood Way and Old Redwood Highway
-N. McDowell and Old Redwood Hwy

Stop signs have been placed on barricades at each intersection. Lighting has been added to six of these intersections to illuminate these areas (no lighting at Campus Circle intersections). Proceed with caution when approaching these intersections and remember to treat them as a four-way stop.

There is NO CHANGE to the weather forecast. The National Weather Service is predicting wind speeds of up to 65 MPH at higher elevations in the region beginning tonight (10/9/19). Winds are expected to decrease tomorrow (10/10/19) by noon. If you see a downed power line, please immediately call 911. Avoid live power lines and downed trees.

There are no additional PLANNED outages in Petaluma scheduled by PG&E. However, additional power outages could occur due to the wind event. If you observe a new outage, please call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000. It may take up to five days to fully restore power from the planned outages.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the PG&E workers, who are our friends, family, and neighbors, for their hard work and dedication to restore our power.

For the areas in Petaluma that have lost power and might be operating a generator, please ensure that generators are properly installed and operated outdoors. Operating a gas generator inside could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning and/or a fire.

City staff will continue to monitor conditions throughout the night to keep you and the entire community safe. This will be the last message until the morning of Thursday, October 10, unless there is an event requiring action.
