Advisory

October Event #1 - Message 8

Greetings Rohnert Park Residents,

We’d like to let you know the latest on the power shut off and fire risks:

There is no change in the weather forecast. A Red Flag Warning in place until 5:00 p.m. tomorrow due to expected strong winds overnight and into tomorrow. In addition to increasing risks from fires, the winds could damage PG&E’s lines and lead to power going out. PG&E is not planning on any further power shut offs at this point.

We will be vigilant and staffing our Emergency Operations Center overnight. We will notify residents via Nixle and social media if an emergency arises.

We have added staff to our fire engines so that we are well-prepared.

    For those without power:

The Burton Recreation Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. until Noon tomorrow for those needing to charge your phones or other devices.

We expect PG&E to start surveying power lines around Noon tomorrow. We do not know when they will start in Rohnert Park. We will let you know when we know more. Please do not call Dispatch/Public Safety to ask about the timing on this.

If you need assistance for anything other than emergencies please call 2-1-1.

Stay away from downed power lines and report them immediately by calling 9-1-1.

Be prepared, stay safe and we will talk in the morning.
