ATTENTION: Weather Advisory High Winds - Potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs
This is an important message from the Simi Valley Police Department. Fire weather has been forecasted for the Simi Valley area from early morning Thursday, October 10, 2019 to late evening Friday, October 11, 2019. Due to an elevated wildfire risk, Southern California Edison is monitoring conditions closely and may initiate preventative power shutoffs in the City of Simi Valley due to the potential fire danger.
If you are sensitive to heat or dependent on electricity to power medical devices, you should begin preparing immediately. Power Shutoffs initiated by Southern California Edison may last throughout the duration of the fire weather event.
Residents are reminded that if a Public Safety Power Shutoff is in effect, traffic signals within the city may be inoperable. An intersection with an inoperative, blacked-out traffic signal should be treated as if it had stop signs in all directions.
