PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff Beginning 10/9/2019 @ 12am for the City of Clearlake
PG&E has confirmed a Public Safety Power Shutoff for the City of Clearlake beginning around midnight tonight. The outage will impact all power within the city.
City facilities, including City Hall, the Police Department and the Animal Shelter will remain open and operational during regular hours during the outage period.
PG&E will be operating a Community Resource Center (CRC) at the Clearlake Senior Community Center at 3245 Bowers Ave. The CRC is anticipated to open 10/9 @ 8am and will close at 6pm daily during the outage. Restrooms, bottled water and electronic device charging will be available during the operational hours.
We will be deploying additional staff during the outage and increasing patrols. We are also closely coordinating with our key stakeholders, including Lake County Fire Protection District.
Our 911 dispatch center will remain fully operational during the outage. However, keep in mind that certain phones, such as Voice over IP, and digital voice through the cable company may not work once the battery backups are exhausted.
It may be 4-5 days before power is restored.
