Please be advised that there have been recent sightings of a large cougar in the surrounding areas of Colburn Culver Rd, Rapid Lightning Rd and Lower Pack River Rd. It was recently sighted near the Northside Elementary School and the Pack River Store. The cougar recently killed 3 alpacas and yesterday, at approx 3:00 pm, this cougar killed a miniature horse near the intersection of Lower Pack River Rd and Rapid Lightning Rd. It entered the barn, killed and drug the horse out before it was scared away by gunshots. Last night  the cougar also killed a deer at the Idaho Club.
This animal is very active. Please call dispatch if sighted @ 208-265-5525 and we will contact Idaho Fish and Game and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Both agencies are actively working on locating and trapping this animal.
