Jacob Chapa was arrested for attempted murder after shooting at his neighbors during a fight

SUSPECT: Jacob Chapa, 31 years-old, of Adelanto
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 5:42pm, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a shooting in the 11200 block of Westbrook Dr., in Adelanto.
The suspect, Jacob Chapa, was fighting with his neighbors when he removed a gun from his waistband and fired 15 rounds at the victims. He fled the location in a Chevy Traverse before deputies arrived. Deputies K. Nguyen and V. Stone located the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but Chapa failed to yield for approximately a mile, then turned into a cul-de-sac and was taken into custody without further incident. No one was injured in the shooting.
Jacob Chapa, who is currently on probation, was booked at High Desert Detention Center where he is currently being held without bail on a probation violation.
