...RED FLAG WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 6PM TUESDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS OVER COLORADO FIRE WEATHER ZONES 200 AND 202. ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR COLORADO FIRE WEATHER ZONES 203, 205, 207, 290, 292, 293 AND UTAH FIRE WEATHER ZONES 490, AND 491... Strong winds are forecast to overspread northern Colorado on Tuesday afternoon. Low RH and dry fuels will combine with winds to produce critical fire weather conditions over northwest Colorado. An even stronger system will be dropping down from the northwest on Wednesday which will bring another day of gusty winds. These gusty winds will be much more widespread,however, and with low humidities and critical fuels still in place, widespread critical fire weather conditions are expected. A fire weather watch has been issued for Wednesday to account for critical conditions. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 203 Lower Colorado River, Fire Weather Zone 205 Colorado River Headwaters, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 292 North Fork Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 293 Gunnison Basin Forecast Area. In Utah, Fire Weather Zone 490 Colorado River Basin and Fire Weather Zone 491 Southeast Utah.

* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for the rapid ignition, growth and spread of fires. Open burning is strongly discouraged.

* AFFECTED AREAS: GUNNISON BASIN ... NORTH FORK ... SOUTHEAST UTAH ... SOUTHWEST COLORADO LOWER FORECAST AREA ... LOWER COLORADO RIVER ... COLORADO RIVER HEADWATERS ... PARADOX VALLEY ... COLORADO RIVER BASIN
