Coastal Flood Advisory until 08:00AM Tuesday

...MINOR COASTAL FLOODING THROUGH THIS MORNING AND AGAIN TONIGHT... .Higher than normal astronomical tides and persistent east to northeast winds will prolong the threat of minor coastal flooding this morning from the barrier islands of Baffin Bay to Port O'Connor and along bay shores from Baffin Bay to Matagorda Bay. Tide levels are expected to decrease later this morning then increase once again overnight tonight and into early Tuesday morning. Tide levels are forecast to reach or exceed 2 feet MSL during high tide which may cause 1 foot of inundation. Minor coastal flooding may continue through mid week. The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 8 AM CDT Tuesday.

* COASTAL FLOODING...Minor coastal flooding in low areas near times of high tide.

* TIMING...Coastal flooding during high tide tonight. High tide at Bob Hall Pier is at 212 AM Tuesday morning. High tide at Port O'Connor is at 607 AM this morning and again at 639 AM Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Poor driving conditions are expected as water reaches the dunes. Some beach access roads may become impassable.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL KLEBERG ... COASTAL REFUGIO ... COASTAL NUECES ... CALHOUN ISLANDS ... ARANSAS ISLANDS ... NUECES ISLANDS ... KLEBERG ISLANDS ... COASTAL CALHOUN ... COASTAL SAN PATRICIO ... COASTAL ARANSAS

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore. Use caution on beach access roads, as they may become impassable.
