On October 5, 2019, at 9:15pm, Fairfield Police Department began receiving calls about a shooting that had just occurred in the area of Hayes Street and Utah Street. Officers responded and located a large crime scene with many expended rounds.
A short time later, a 25 year-old Fairfield resident called for medical attention. He had been shot and drove himself from the scene. Paramedics transported the victim to a local trauma center, and he is in critical condition.
