Convicted felon arrested after leading officers on a pursuit on a motorcycle. 
SMPD officers attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation at about 8:22 PM this evening. The solo rider, identified as 35 year old John Mayberry, led officers on a pursuit at high speeds before abandoning the motorcycle behind the Buckboard Motel in Santa Maria. The suspect ran into a motel room and was arrested there without incident.
Mayberry had a felony warrant out of San Luis Obispo County and was booked into the Santa Barbara County jail on the warrant and felony evading arrest.
