Gang Member Arrested with a Gun and Drugs
On October 5, 2019, 0110 hours, the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force was conducting gang enforcement patrols in known gang and high crime areas. Officers observed Julio Guevara, a known Pomona gang member, exit a room at the Pomona Inn Motel. Officers contacted Guevara and conducted a narcotics investigation. Guevara ultimately admitted to possessing methamphetamine and Heroin inside of his motel room.
Officers obtained a signed search warrant for the motel room and conducted a search. During the search, officers located illegal narcotics and a firearm, which was cleverly concealed in an automotive style battery charging case.
Officers arrested Julio Guevara and collected the evidence. Guevara was subsequently booked in the Pomona City jail.
