The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has extended the
* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in... Southwestern Nueces County in south central Texas... Central Jim Wells County in south central Texas... Kleberg County in south central Texas...
* Until 545 PM CDT.
* At 430 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will cause flooding. 1 to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kingsville, Bishop, Riviera Beach, Riviera, Ricardo, Kingsville Naval Air Station and Loyola Beach. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area.
* AFFECTED AREAS: JIM WELLS, TX ... NUECES, TX ... KLEBERG, TX
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
