Coastal Flood Advisory until 07:00AM Saturday

...DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS AND MINOR COASTAL FLOODING CONTINUE... .Increased swell periods and swell heights along with moderate easterly winds will maintain a high risk for dangerous rip currents through early Thursday morning along Gulf facing beaches of the Middle Texas Coast. High astronomical tides will create minor coastal flooding through early Saturday morning from the barrier islands of Baffin Bay to Port O'Connor and along bay shores from Baffin Bay to Matagorda Bay. Tide levels are expected to reach or exceed 2 feet MSL during high tide which may cause 1 foot of inundation. Minor coastal flooding could continue through this weekend.

* COASTAL FLOODING...Tidal surf reaching the dunes during astronomical high tide.

* TIMING...Coastal flooding during high tide through early Saturday morning. High tide at Bob Hall Pier is 1011 PM Thursday and 1143 PM Friday. High tide at Port O'Connor is 302 AM Thursday, 404 AM Friday, and 448 AM Saturday. High Risk of Rip Currents continues through early Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous rip currents are expected along Gulf- facing beaches, especially near piers and jetties. Poor driving conditions are likely at times from water reaching the dunes. Some beach access roads may become impassable.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CALHOUN ISLANDS ... ARANSAS ISLANDS ... NUECES ISLANDS ... KLEBERG ISLANDS

Instructions:

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
