Closure of Westbound Michigan Avenue for Infrastructure Restructure Project this Weekend 
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are advised that westbound Michigan Avenue will be closed to through traffic west of Harrison Road this weekend to accommodate work associated with the ongoing Infrastructure Restructure project. Additionally, Cowley Avenue and Kensington Road will be closed at Michigan Avenue.
Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.
The closures will be implemented at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 and the roadway will re-open to traffic on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 6. Advanced signage will be in place to guide motorists along the detour route.
Eastbound Michigan Avenue will remain open to traffic and westbound Michigan Avenue traffic will still be able to turn right onto Harrison Road. Southbound and northbound Harrison Road traffic will still be able to travel through the Michigan-Harrison intersection.
The community’s patience is appreciated during this weekend’s closure. Work is progressing at the project site, with final paving expected by approximately mid November.
