Jackson police investigate an incident involving a school bus.

Jackson Police are investigating an incident involving a school bus from the Jackson-Madison County School System.  This afternoon, October 1st, at approximately 3:23 p.m., officers of the Jackson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Old Oak Circle for a report of a witness who saw an individual shooting at a school bus while it was traveling on I40. The incident was not originally reported by the bus driver.

Officers responded to the area and located the bus in the parking lot of the Speedway gas station located at 2522 Christmasville Road. Upon inspecting the bus and speaking with the driver, investigators located a broken window and a BB from an air guninside the bus. Based upon preliminary investigations and witnesses, the BB was allegedly fired from a small white car that was traveling next to the bus which was traveling eastbound on I40.  The bus was occupied by middle and high school students.  However, no injuries have been reported from the incident.

Anyone with information about this incident or anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department at 731-425-8400.
