TO: RESIDENTS ON DRAPER ST, WILSON AVE (TAFT AVE TO DRAPER ST) & CENTER ST (DRAPER ST TO GARDNER PL)
The City of Oneonta will begin restoring driveway aprons tomorrow, Wednesday, October 2nd. Only a few driveways will be done at a time, meaning that each affected property will be without driveway access for several hours at some point.
On Thursday, October 3rd and Friday, October 4th, weather permitting, the City will pave the top course of asphalt on Draper St, Center St (Draper St to Gardner Pl) & Wilson (Taft Ave to Draper St). During the work, these roads will be inaccessible to vehicular traffic, and residents may park on Center St, Taft Ave, or in Wilber Park (please follow parking signs). After paving is completed, traffic will be allowed on the new pavement, however, on-street parking will be restricted over the weekend – residents are asked to please park in driveways, or on other streets, until Monday, October 7h.
In approximately a week, the City will apply a final, thin wearing surface to these streets, which will complete the pavement replacement.
Concrete sidewalk replacement is scheduled to occur over the next one to two weeks.
As usual, work will occur between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
