Suffolk County Police last night arrested a man for driving while intoxicated following a crash involving three motor vehicles in Dix Hills.
 
Thomas Macy was driving a 2019 Ford van southbound on Deer Park Road, near the intersection of East Deer Park Road, when he crashed into the back of a southbound SUV at approximately 10:05 p.m. The SUV then crashed into the back of a southbound four-door sedan. The Ford van caught fire and became fully engulfed.
 
The occupants of the SUV, two adult females and an adult male, as well as the occupant of the sedan, an adult male, were transported to Huntington Hospital for evaluation. Macy was not injured. 
 
Macy, 52, of 32 Woodlawn Ave., Selden was charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He is being held overnight at the Second Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 1.
 
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
