Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are investigating the death of a two year-old baby girl that occurred on the 22400 block of South Vermont Avenue in the unincorporated area of Torrance.
On Monday, September 23, 2019, Carson Station deputies responded to the location regarding a “baby not breathing” call.
When deputies arrived, they found a two year-old baby girl unresponsive.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics transported the baby girl to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The 34 year-old mother, who was at the location, was interviewed along with several witnesses.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were involved.
The manner and cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner at a later date.
At this time no arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
