...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Illinois and west
central Illinois, including the following areas, in central
Illinois, Marshall, McLean, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell, and
Woodford. In west central Illinois, Fulton and Knox.

* Through Saturday morning

* Heavy rainfall of 2 to 4 inches has already occurred across
parts of central Illinois, which have produced localized flash
flooding. Additional thunderstorms are expected to produce heavy
rain late this evening, primarily between 7 pm and 1 am. The
additional rain amounts will range from 1 to 2 inches, with
locally heavier downpours in spots along and west of the
Illinois River Valley.

* Excessive rainfall will lead to additional flash flooding of
streets, rural roads, ditches, and flood prone areas. In
addition, creeks and streams could rapidly overflow their banks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
