Update: Jackson Police identify victims from Neff St. shooting.

Update: Shooting on Neff Street

Investigators and officers with the Jackson Police Department continue to investigate the evening shooting that occurred on Neff St. at Middleton.  Jackson Police identify twenty-six year old Julio Almaraz and twenty year old Joe Ramirez as the victims in yesterday's shooting.  Both subjects remain in critical condition and continue to receive medical treatment from a medical facility.   

At approximately 6:15 p.m., September 26th, Officer’s with the Jackson Police Department responded to the area of Neff and Middleton for a call of shots fired. Responding officers located a vehicle that had wrecked and a victim suffering with a gunshot.  The car was also on fire. While investigating the scene, officers received another phone call about a subject suffering from a gunshot in the area of LaConte and Orchard.

Based upon preliminary investigations, it is believed the victim who was located in the area of LaConte and Orchard and was suffering from a gunshot fled the scene at Neff and Middleton.  Both victims were transported by Emergency Medical Personnel  to a local hospital with serious injuries.  Jackson police are still trying to identify a person of interest. The person of interest is identified as a black male approximately 6 feet in height who was wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants.
