DATE/TIME: Thursday, September 12, 2019

LOCATION: Town Hall

NARRATIVE:
On June 13th, 2019 Chief Peters along with his staff attended the NJ State Chiefs Accreditation Commission Meeting. It was at this time the panel approved the report which recommended our agency for re-accreditation.

On May 13th a team of NJ State Chiefs Association Accreditation Commission Assessors conducted a two day comprehensive assessment of the Ocean Township Police policies and procedures along with a detailed inspection of the police department facility, vehicles, uniforms and equipment. The Ocean Township Police department successfully completed the assessment and will again be recommended for Law Enforcement Accreditation. In order to maintain accreditation status a police department must successfully complete a comprehensive assessment every three years.

On September 12, 2019 Harry Delgado, the Accreditation Program Manager for the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police attended the council meeting and presented our agency with the re-accreditation certificate. The Township of Ocean Police Department will continue this program and police our community using standards that reflect professional best practices in law enforcement.
