FOUND: Missing 85yo in the area of Stony Creek and Merritt in Ypsilanti Township has been located and is alive.

Kimiko Astalos, who has been missing since 9:00am yesterday has been located. Although dehydrated and exhausted she is alive. She was located inside of Rolling Hills park by the Michigan State Police K9 Unit. 

The WCSO would like to send a sincere thank you to the more than one hundred community volunteers who helped search the area. Thank you to all of our law enforcment partners who sent staff and resources to assist and a very special thank you to Michigan State Police Trooper Schreiber, K9 Hildago and the MSP family for finding her.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a missing person. Kimiko Astalos walked away from her family home just before 9:00am today. She was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and blue pants. Her home is located in the southern portion of Ypsilanti Township in the area of Stony Creek and Merritt.
