Deputies arrest Jason Cox for Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property

LOCATION: 32500 block of Fairmont Street, Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Jason Lee Cox, 39 year old, Transient
VICTIM: Male, 51 year-old resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY: On September 17, 2019, the victim discovered $1,500. worth of tools were stolen from a shipping container on his property. The tools included four chain saws and a Makita jackhammer. A burglary report was completed.
Through investigation, detectives learned Jason Cox went to a local pawn shop and pawned the stolen jackhammer on September 6, then pawned a stolen chain saw on September 16. The victim positively identified his property and retrieved the items from the pawn shop.
On September 18, the victim found the Makita jackhammer was again stolen from the same shipping container on the victim's property. An additional burglary report was completed.
Through investigation, Jason Cox was again identified as the suspect. The stolen jackhammer was again located at a different local pawn shop and was, again, recovered.
Cox was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center with bail set at $25,000.
