The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a
* Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Lafayette County in south central Wisconsin...
* Until 1000 AM CDT.
* At 700 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding in the advisory area. Two to three inches of rain have already fallen just north of Benton. Pockets of heavy rain will continue over the western and southern portion of the county for the next couple hours.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Darlington, Shullsburg, Belmont, Benton, Somers, Wiota, New Diggings, South Wayne, Gratiot, Platte Mounds, Lead Mine and Leslie. Additional rainfall 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
* AFFECTED AREAS: LAFAYETTE, WI
Instructions:
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
