Police Activity Near Brightwood School 
Earlier today, the Monterey Park Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Valley Vista Dr. regarding a possible shooting that had occurred in the area. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that a shooting did not occur. There were no victims or evidence of any crime in the area.
Due to this incident, Brightwood School was temporarily placed on lockdown. The school was never in danger and this was done strictly as a precaution.
The Monterey Park Police Department would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Community safety in these types of incidents is our main concern.
