Coastal Flood Advisory until 10:00PM

...MINOR COASTAL FLOODING POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING... .Tide level running 1 to 1.5 feet above normal this afternoon will lead to water reaching the dunes in some areas along the barrier islands. Minor coastal flooding is possible in lower areas around Bays through this evening. Water levels generally less than 1 foot above ground level (around 2 ft MSL) are expected. The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 10 PM CDT this evening.

* COASTAL FLOODING...Occasional tidal surf reaching the base of the dunes on North Padre Island, Mustang Island, and in coastal flood prone areas along Bays during high astronomical tides.

* TIMING...Through 10PM this evening

* IMPACTS...Poor driving conditions are expected as water reaches the dunes, mainly during high tide cycle. Some beach access roads will be impassable.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL KLEBERG ... COASTAL NUECES ... NUECES ISLANDS ... KLEBERG ISLANDS

Instructions:

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
