Juvenile suspects arrested for attempted murder in Apple Valley.

LOCATION: 20000 block of Sitting Bull Road, Apple Valley, CA

SUSPECT(S): Male Juvenile, 16-year-old resident of Apple Valley
Male Juvenile, 16-year-old resident of Downey
Female Juvenile, 16-year-old resident of Pomona

VICTIM(S): 25-year-old male resident of Apple Valley


SUMMARY:

On Monday, September 16, 2019, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department were dispatched to the report of an unknown problem at the 20000 block of Sitting Bull Road in the Town of Apple Valley.

Deputies arrived on scene and learned the victim, a 25-year-old resident of Apple Valley, had arrived at the location to meet a 20-year-old female, who he had befriended on social media. The female, however, was later identified to be the 16-year-old suspect. The victim entered the garage of the location and was immediately confronted by two 16-year-old male suspects, after which an altercation ensued. Both male juveniles brandished a firearm and fired several rounds toward the victim. One of the male juveniles proceeded to strike the victim in the head with the firearm. During the altercation, one of the male juvenile suspects shot himself in the leg. Both firearms were located at the scene and booked into evidence. The male juvenile suspect was transported to St. Mary Medical Center and was air lifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center for the gunshot wound to his leg and is in stable condition. The victim was also transported to St. Mary Medical Center for lacerations to his head and is in stable condition.

During the investigation, it was discovered the female juvenile suspect and one of the male juvenile suspects were reported as run-away juveniles.

One male juvenile suspect was taken into custody and transported to High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for violating PC664/187, attempt murder, and PC211, robbery. The second male juvenile suspect remains hospitalized. The female juvenile suspect was taken into custody and transported to High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for violating PC32, conspiracy.
