On 09/14/19 at approximately 2:30 AM, Culver City Police Officers as well as the Culver City Fire Department, were dispatched to a radio call of an unresponsive adult male in the 4000 block of Jackson Ave., Culver City. Upon arrival, the male victim, whose identity will remain confidential, was found deceased. Culver City Police Detectives responded to the scene and began to investigate. Our detectives quickly learned that the victim had been assaulted by Oscar Gonzalez, during which Gonzalez knocked the victim unconscious.
Gonzalez had left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. The same day at around 11:30 AM, Culver City Police Detectives arrested Gonzalez in the Rowland Heights area of Los Angeles County.
Gonzalez was booked for PC 192(a), voluntary manslaughter. This case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration tomorrow (09/17/19). Gonzalez remains in custody at the Culver City Police Department.
