Deputy finds local woman in possession of pain pills 
Deputy David Jones of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jessica Nicole Buchanan Effler, 38, address listed as Davis Street in Marion, with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
At 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, Jones spotted a Nissan Rogue sitting in a parking lot off U.S. 70 West and recognized it to be the one involved in a possible domestic dispute earlier in the morning.
Upon checking out the vehicle, he located Effler inside. A search of her person turned up nine pain pills.
