Flash Flood Warning until 02:00AM Friday
The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Rock County in south central Wisconsin...
* Until 200 AM CDT.
* At 1055 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one and one half inches of rain in the past hour has already fallen in southern and eastern parts of Rock County. More heavy rainfall is expected to move into Rock County from the southwest over the next one to two hours. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Janesville, Beloit, Milton, Edgerton, Evansville, Clinton, Orfordville, Footville, Fulton, Newark, Magnolia, Tiffany, Hanover, Avalon, Cooksville, Shopiere, Afton, Emerald Grove, Johnstown Center and Indianford. Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches in the next two hours are possible in the warned area.
* AFFECTED AREAS: ROCK, WI
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
