Flood Advisory until 01:45AM Friday

The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Rock County in south central Wisconsin...

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 1041 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain in the past hour has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Janesville, Beloit, Milton, Edgerton, Evansville, Clinton, Orfordville, Footville, Fulton, Newark, Magnolia, Tiffany, Hanover, Avalon, Cooksville, Shopiere, Afton, Emerald Grove, Johnstown Center and Indianford. Additional rainfall of up to one inch in an hour is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
